Location: Gallery 1st Floor, The Dolder Grand
My Switzerland is a very personal masterclass and assembles a lineup of eight wines that stood out to me for many reasons during the tasting of 400 wines in February this year. To me, they represent what I connect with Switzerland in general and for Swiss wine in particular: they are Alpine, cool, fresh, pure and authentic and harbingers or even future icons of a new, self-confident and unique Switzerland that has left former role models behind and is focusing on its own talents.
Featured Wines:
1. 2020 Chanton Weine • Riesling
2. 2019 Marie-Thérèse Chappaz • Assemblage Blanc Sylvaner de Charly & Muscat des Claives
3. 2021 Ô Faya Farm • Mirage d’Arvine
4. 2019 Zündel • Sass
5. 2020 Henri Cruchon • Nihilo Nature
6. 2019 Fröhlich Weine • Pinot Noir

Quintessence of the Great 2019 Vintage: The Finest Grüner Veltliners from the Danube River
Host: Stephan Reinhardt

Time: Sat 2 April 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Gallery 1st Floor, The Dolder Grand
2019 has been a great and widely praised vintage for Austria. Although the 2020s will be exciting as well and represent a much cooler, fresher and spicier character, the 2019s have everything that a great vintage needs in order to age for decades: ripeness, intensity, drive and tension. For the first time in 20 years, I have often preferred the Veltliners to the Rieslings in 2019. Obviously, the warmth of the vintage was made for Veltliner. The wines are concentrated and rich, but they also have the vitality and mineral freshness that I have missed in so many warm vintages. In the 2019s, which brought the first 100-point Grüner Veltliner in the history of The Wine Advocate, everything you need to have in a great white wine is on the right palate. For this tasting, I have assembled some of my favorites. You are welcome to share my passions!
Featured Wines:
1. 2019 Schloss Gobelsburg • Kammern Ried Grub 1ÖTW | RP96
2. 2019 Martin Muthenthaler • Ried Schön Grüner Veltliner | RP96

A Homage to the Genius of Philippe Cambie
Host: Joe Czerwinski

Time: Sun 3 April 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Location: Gallery 1st Floor, The Dolder Grand
Although he worked in a number of countries, consultant Philippe Cambie made his reputation by helping to revolutionize winemaking in the Rhône Valley. While consultant is considered a bad word in some quarters—suggesting a certain style or sense of uniformity—Cambie always put his clients' terroirs, grape varieties and house styles first. As we'll see in this tasting, these terrific wines all retain strong senses of individuality—they're not all the same.

Donatsch Pinot Noir Unique –
20-Year Anniversary Vertical
Host: Martin Donatsch & Stephan Reinhardt

Time: Sun 3 April 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: Gallery 1st Floor, The Dolder Grand
Weingut Donatsch is among the most famous wineries in Switzerland, hailing from the “Bündner Herrschaften” in the southeastern canton of Grisons, which produces some of the finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of the country and holds the only four hectares of the native “Completer” grape variety in the world. Current winemaker Martin Donatsch now heads up the family estate in the fifth generation. His wines are very sought after internationally and receive top ratings regularly; unfortunately, due to the small production of just over 30,000 bottles annually, the wines are very rare and hard to obtain.
For the 20th anniversary of the flagship “Unique” series, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our guests to taste a complete vertical of 20 years of Donatsch Pinot Noir Unique—all the way from the inaugural 2000 vintage, all served from magnums directly from the family’s wine library. Join Martin and Robert Parker Wine Advocate reviewer for Switzerland Stephan Reinhardt on this exciting and special journey into Swiss winemaking history.

Burgundy's Viticultural Revolution
Host: William Kelley

Time: Sun 3 April 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Gallery 1st Floor, The Dolder Grand
Contemporary Burgundy is witnessing a viticultural revolution of impressive proportions, as many of the region's best producers rethink the fundamentals of canopy management, planting density, vine genetics and soil cultivation—with profound consequences for wine quality. Rather than focusing on any single appellation, vintage or producer, this tasting takes this viticultural revolution as its theme, ranging all the way from the Mâconnais to the Côte de Nuits, from communal appellations to grands crus. What all the producers featured in this tasting have in common is an innovative approach to viticulture that marks them out as leaders in Burgundy today. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate's Burgundy reviewer, will explain the basics of viticulture and why it matters today—and why it will matter even more in the future. And he'll be joined by Santenay winegrowing pioneer Jean-Marc Vincent, who'll offer personal insights from a career of innovation spanning more than two decades.
