With 30 years of history and more than eight centuries of documented wine tradition, Abadía Retuerta finds its essence and reason for being in the pago wine, which is the one that most accurately expresses the personality and uniqueness of the terroir.

Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro

Spain

Girolamro.png
About

The Arzuaga winery is in Valladolid, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. The wines come from La Planta, an estate belonging to the Arzuaga family in Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the province of Valladolid. This is an excellent location for vine-growing, as the plants receive the sun and moisture they need for the grapes to ripen perfectly.

There can be no doubt that Arzuaga wines are made based on three premises: the soil, the climate and the orientation of the vineyards.

The local flora and fauna coexist perfectly with the vines in La Planta. The flora includes pines, holm oaks and savin juniper, and, among the animals are wild boars and red deer. This coexistence clearly shows the love the Arzuaga family feels for the natural world. The estate covers 1,400 hectares (3,500 acres) in a wonderful location in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin area: its Golden Mile.

Bodegas Pujanza

Spain

Girolamro.png
About

Carlos San Pedro has been making his own wines for more than 20 years. His career began even earlier, from his childhood at the hands of his father in the vineyard. When he decided to create Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza, his philosophy was totally clear: focus on the land to understand and know perfectly each of his estates and the behavior of the grape varieties depending on the conditions of each year.

That is why Pujanza wines are made only with Tempranillo and Viura, native varieties that perfectly represent their origin and are noticeably influenced by the soil and climate. Hence, the vintage of each wine becomes a very representative data. During its passage through the winery, the fundamental thing is that the wine does not lose its connection with the vineyard from which it comes.

Compañía Vinícola del Norte De

Spain

Girolamro.png
About

In 1879, the Real de Asúa brothers arrived in Haro to embark on what would become one of the longest-standing histories in the wine world. A trip initially taken for health reasons led to the creation of Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (C.V.N.E.) in the iconic Barrio de la Estación railway station.

This marked the birth of a family winery that has grown over five generations. Today, the winery is still run by the same family, producing quality, artisanal and traditional wines that grace tables in more than 90 countries. An industry leader in Spain and winner of prestigious wine awards including accolades from Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate over the course of its history, CVNE has continued to grow while always remaining true to its objective of creating premium wines and tapping into the potential of the outstanding vineyards in its environs. Bodegas Pinea del Duero

Spain

Girolamro.png
About

The Pinea vineyards represent the perfect confluence of elements: soil, demanding environment and daunting weather. It is from these challenges the PINEA grape endures to impart the full wisdom and beauty of its vine unlike any other vines in the world.

Our estate is located near the towns of Olmedillo de Roa and Villatuelda (Burgos), in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, at an average altitude of 3,050 feet above sea level. The vineyards benefit from nearly 360 degrees of exposition and are planted in slightly varying soil types, but generally chalky sand with abundant presence of limestone. Deeply structured rooting systems allow for vines to thrive under extreme temperatures without artificial irrigation. The fruit thus benefits from seasonal extremes ranging from cold snowy winters to hot summer days, and stress from fairly common 40°F day-to-night temperature fluctuations.
